The University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering (UPD COE), together with the UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (UPERDFI) and in collaboration with the UP National Engineering Center (UP NEC), is set to hold the 2024 Professorial Chair Colloquium on November 25, 2024. This annual gathering recognizes the remarkable contributions of Professorial Chair Awardees who continue to advance excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Exploring Transformative Research

Themed “FAST TRACK 2: Filipino Engineers for the Advancement of Science and Technology Through Research and Collaborative Knowledge-Sharing – Engineering Research Towards Achieving Philippine Sustainable Development Goals”, this year’s colloquium will showcase innovative and impactful research conducted by UPD COE faculty members. The event provides a unique opportunity to engage with groundbreaking engineering initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Philippines.

Presentations are grouped into thematic sessions that highlight pressing issues and opportunities aligned with key SDGs:

Objectives of the Colloquium

This year’s colloquium aims to:

  • Disseminate the cutting-edge research outputs of UPD COE’s esteemed faculty to a broader audience, including fellow academics, industry leaders, government representatives, and policymakers.
  • Foster meaningful dialogue by soliciting inputs and feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Promote a platform for discussing related research across different units within the College and the University, thereby exploring potential interdisciplinary applications and policy implications.
