The Organizing and Scientific Committee of RCEnvE, invites you to participate in the 15th Regional Conference in Environmental Engineering: Environmental Engineering at the Forefront of Global Environment and Health Challenges. The conference is a virtual event, i.e., it will be held via an online platform on 17-18 January 2021.

The conference is among the annual conferences in ten engineering fields that are supported by the JICA Technical Cooperation Project for ASEAN University Network/Southeast Asia Engineering Development Network (AUN/SEED-Net). The conference this year is hosted by the University of the Philippines Diliman and supported by the University of the Philippines System Office of International Linkages.

Conference Agenda:
The world faces diverse but connected environmental issues, such as water pollution due to land-based activities, micropollutants of emerging concern, and climate change. These concerns call for a holistic approach and a wide range of practicable advanced techniques, from geographic to gene-level information analysis, health surveillance oriented environmental monitoring, systems analysis, and decision tools for sustainability. Facing global environmental and health challenges, environmental engineers of multidisciplinary backgrounds must work with various sectors of society. The conference aims to promote academic, research, and development collaborations among universities, government institutions, and industry in ASEAN countries and their neighbors.

Plenary Speakers:
Prof. Kazuo Nadaoka
Prof. Kiyohiko Nakasaki
Engr. Jonathan Co
Prof. Ciara O’Sullivan
Prof. Francis De los Reyes
Prof. Sheree A. Pagsuyoin
Prof. Vincenzo Naddeo

Who should attend?
International and local delegates; academe and Industry professionals; engineers, researchers and students; process, tools and service developers; environmental policy people.

The 15th Regional Conference on Environmental Engineering was held by the University of the Philippines Diliman and led by Prof. Analiza Palenzuela Rollon, Coordinator of the Environmental Engineering Program, at the College of Engineering. This successful event took place on January 17–18, 2022, under the theme “Environmental Engineering at the Forefront of Global Environment and Health Challenges”, covering seven topics:

• Environmental Health

• Environmental Contaminants and Their Impacts

• Environmental Quality Profiling, Monitoring, and Analysis

• Water Sustainability and Quality Management

• Environmental Pollution Control Strategies

• Environmental Management and Policies

• Waste Management

The conference took place via the Zoom platform due to the pandemic restrictions. More than 150 participants attended the event, including researchers, academicians, and industrial partners from the ASEAN and other countries around the world.
