Congratulations to BS ECE graduates, Engr. Bernalyn Decena, Engr. Joshua Reginal Luzon, and their adviser Prof. Miguel Carlo Purisima for winning the Best Paper Award in the 2017 IEEE Region 10 Conference held last November 5-8, 2017 in Penang, Malaysia. Their research paper is entitled “2.4GHz Pattern Reconfigurable Corner Reflector Antennas Using Frequency Selective Conductor Loops and Strips.”

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 82 out of 96 passed the Metallurgical Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Metallurgical Engineering in Manila and Davao this October 2017.
The members of the Board of Metallurgical Engineering who gave the licensure examination are Agustin M. Fudolig, Chairman and Juancho Pablo S. Calvez, Member.
On October 25, 2017, registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps and 1 piece short brown envelope. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. .
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

Congratulations to Dr. Pros Naval of UP Diliman Department of Computer Science and Dr. Laura David of UP Marine Science Institute for winning first place in this year’s Ambassador Alfredo M. Yao Intellectual Property (AMY IP) Awards (Professional Category) for their invention/project “FISHDROP: Fish Size, Population Density, and Biomass Estimation Device”!
The AMY IP Awards was launched in 2009 to promote appreciation and support commercialization of locally-developed and socially-relevant intellectual properties. Since then, it has been annually conferred to Filipino-owned intellectual properties that have contributed or have the potential to contribute to economic development and social awareness.
Here is the flowchart for the process of refund of tuition and other fees for AY2017-2018.
The Office of the Registrar will be processing refund applications starting from October 16 to October 27, 2017. The Original copy of Form 5, Change of Matriculation Forms and/or receipts of Loan Payment will be needed for the application, if applicable.
Deadline for submission of applications is on November 15, 2017 (November 8 if applying with ERDT scholarship).
