NGCP’s new recruits (L-R): Richard P. Abundo and Neil Ryan G. Asor

Two (2) young engineering professionals who graduated on top of their class recently joined the newly formed project management team of power grid operator and transmission service provider, NGCP.

They are University of the Philippines’ alumni Richard P. Abundo, cum laude, B.S. Mechanical Engineering, and Neil Ryan G. Asor, cum laude, B.S. Electrical Engineering.

Engr. Abundo graduated from UP Diliman in 2006, while Engr. Asor graduated from UP Los Baños in 2013 and is currently enrolled in UP Diliman for his M.S. Electrical Engineering-Major in Power Systems.

Both are licensed engineers with extensive engineering and technical project management experience in the power, airline, and data communication system industries prior to joining NGCP.

As part of NGCP’s project management team, they are involved in monitoring the designs, bidding process, right-of-way acquisition process, construction, and payment of projects; liaising with government units, customers, and suppliers; identifying and addressing risks and concerns that may affect project completion.

“We want to attract only the best and brightest professionals,” NGCP said. “This is consistent with our goal of building a world-class transmission system. To be the best at what we do, we need to hire the best and the brightest people,” the company emphasized.

For the technically competent and highly qualified individuals joining its workforce, NGCP offers competitive salaries, globally recognized best practices in operating/management systems and procedures, opportunities for professional growth through local and foreign training programs, and partnerships with top schools, professional associations, and allied utilities for professional development programs.

Other perks are the balanced work-life environment through employee clubs, sports and wellness, environmental and CSR programs, team-building, and employee recognition and rewards through the Employee Performance Feedback System (EPFS).
